The Journals of Printing in Vermont
It is finally time to start the printing of The Lewis & Clark Trail American Landscapes. On November 28th Rich Nickel, the designer on this project, and I will travel to Lunenburg, Vermont and spend 3 weeks at The Stinehour Press as the book is being printed. We expect to be doing 3 press checks a day as we go through the printing of 256 pages and 248 images. It will take about 20 forms or sheets through the press and each sheet is going through twice in order to have the precise colors and spot varnish which will make this book outstanding.
Check this page often as I intend, I repeat, INTEND, to update it at the end of each day. This will let some of you be able to come along on this journey with me. I hope it will be exciting for all of us and I look forward to being able to share the experience with you. I will also be adding images from Vermont as we go along. These images are from our trip out there in September during our initial production meetings. Enjoy.
