The Quiet Light WorkshopsQuiet Light Photography Workshops offer people interested in nature and landscape photography the ability to hone their skills in the digital world of photography today. Geared toward any level of photographer, each workshop will enable you to expand your skills with your camera, teaching or enhancing your knowledge of composition, color balances, and color calibration to get consistent work results, as well as working with your digital images and optimizing them in Photoshop. Not only do we focus on improving the photographs you create, but we aim to engage your imagination and expand your appreciation of the natural world. Our workshops are designed to take you to some of the best landscapes the lens can see! These are hands-on, in the field workshops with award winning nature photographer Richard Mack. You will be in surroundings that get your creative juices flowing and which serve as a wonderful photographic classroom. At the end of the day, images will be reviewed and discussed as a group. Techniques will be shared and Richard will work with each of you to improve upon what you’ve shot. The take-away from these workshops will be a better knowledge of how to make your equipment work to the best of its ability, a new understanding of composition, lighting, filters, etc. and a plethora of tips to make your images get the “wow” response. At each location we try to maximize the amount of time we spend in the field shooting images, while not tiring the group out with extremely long days. We try not to shoot both a sunrise and sunset on the same day – especially in June when days are longest. But we also tailor each day to the workshop members and what they are looking to accomplish. And let’s face it – some days you just have to put in more time because the light is right! Evenings are spent in lectures and reviews, or just “talking shop”. In 2009 we offer a few Workshops back to back in the same area - such as in Zion and Bryce National Parks. This allows workshop participants the opportunity to attend two workshops back to back and make the experience even more rewarding. Not only do you receive the expertise of Richard, but you will find him fun, easy to work with and truly passionate about photography. His goal is to give every participant the most rewarding photographic and learning experience possible. So, why not come along, set your own goal, then take home some stunning photographs!
